LES ILLUSIONS Series
I start with 1 mm strands of glass, shape each strand individually, then fuse them to the surface of dichroic glass. The pattern of the individual strands and their relationship to each other creates a resulting “illusion” of depth and movement, especially if one walks by or around the piece. The final shape is a simple concave surface which adds to the dimensional effect and, because of the dichroic glass, adds multiple colors as well.
A superb way to display one of these pieces is on a slowly revolving table with a nice spot light above.
