NEST Series These sculptures are made from organic materials (rose canes, wood, etc.) which I cast in bronze, weld together, and then add a “nest” consisting of 1 mm strands of glass kilnformed onto the bronze platform. It takes many firings to build the nest up to its final shape. When finished, the nest is carefully removed so the bronze can be cleaned and patinaed. The nest is then attached and the piece is finished. Sometimes egg(s) are added which can be of different materials.
